What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliating and skin rejuvenation procedure. It is used to treat a number of skin conditions and imperfections, including wrinkles, stretch marks and sun-damaged skin. Treatments involve spraying refined crystals onto affected areas to eradicate dead skin cells and produce a smoother, more youthful complexion.

A professional microdermabrasion procedure can take between 30 - 40 minutes. Often more than one treatment is needed to achieve maximum results. Sessions are usually performed at two to three week intervals to allow for recovery times.

Course outline   

Our curriculum covers the theory behind microdermabrasion equipment and treatments. We provide a hands-on learning experience, where students can practice on live models. Through our program they will have the opportunity to:

• Consult and prepare for the treatment
• Perform a basic facial cleanse
• Apply the treatment
• Review treatment and provide post-treatment advice

Diva Academy supplies all the equipment needed for this procedure. We only require models to pay a small fee to cover treatment costs.
